Any institution may use the LITNET FEDI service provided that all of the following requirements are met:

1. The institution has a digital identity management system and a single sign-on (SSO) system.

2. The institution has a LITNET service agreement in place.

3. The institution meets the technical requirements (only lt) (for identity providers (IdPs) and service providers (SPs).

To start using the LITNET FEDI service, the institution must submit an application to the Chair of the LITNET Council and complete the following steps:

1. Sign a LITNET service agreement or amend its existing agreement.

2. Appoint a person responsible for metadata administration.

3. Ensure that the designated administrator registers, updates or deletes metadata as required and maintains its accuracy.
